Falling afternoon

The poems of the poetess born in Subotica were previously published in magazines, her first volume, Dél, was published in 2019 by Fekete Sas Kiadó. Her poems have been regularly published in the cultural section of Magyar Szó, Kilátó, and occasionally in the Budapest magazine Vigília. Zuhanó předszállás is the lyrical fruit of the last three years. In addition to poetry, the author's teaching career spanning nearly four decades continues to be a defining part of her life. * Apart from the pandemic madness that has deeply wounded her personal sphere and the shock of a life that has been thrown into decline by it, no new themes are actually introduced in the volume, only the old ones become more characteristic, more emphasized, and their expressive means more polished. The first lines of the final poem seem to acknowledge this - the radical change in life and its conditions strengthens and finalizes the basic quality of existence and the ars poetica: The fleeting time suddenly begins to fall, it becomes hot, and it forgets nothing after that.
