House of Dragons premiered on August 21st to more viewers than any other HBO original series to date, and it is also the most successful series premiere on HBO Max to date in the United States, Latin America and Europe. Each episode is watched by around 29 million viewers in the US alone, and around a third of fans watch the current episode on the night it premieres. The series, based on George RR Martin's book Fire and Blood, takes place two hundred years before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of House Targaryen. The release will include all ten episodes of HBO's hugely successful series, over an hour of extras and two brand new short films.
