Judith ... and the Aftermath - (Continuation of the True)

In the two parts of The Real, we have already learned about the story of the love triangle from the perspective of the wife and the husband. In the third part, Judit tells this story a few years after the war, in Rome, to a drummer with a dubious past, also from Hungary, who is her current partner. From the narrative, we learn about the life of the maid, then the “dignity” who became the maid, the story of her marriage and divorce. Meanwhile, a great period sketch unfolds before us: the siege and Budapest after the siege, with the experiences of an eyewitness. In the Afterword, the drummer tells the story. After Judit’s death, in America, he remembers his life before emigrating, Judit’s story, and gives his newly arrived friend a lesson in the main points of being an American emigrant. It is a varied story, with a historical background that is worth getting to know and instructive. The excellent performance by Erzsébet Kútvölgyi and Zsolt László brings the atmosphere of the era closer to today's listeners.
